
FRANCISCO LAFONTAINE
is a freelance filmmaker with an emphasis on cinematography. His passion for video production began during his college graduate years at LIU Brooklyn where he earned his M.F.A. in Film Production.
Soon after graduate school he began to work in the industry as a Stage Manager and Grip for Bravo Studios and then shifted into the world of Post Production working as a Post Production Assistant for Eastern TV for the Love & Hip Hop reality television franchise. After his time at Eastern TV he found himself back behind the camera working as Second Shooter on the recreation team for the long running television series On the Case with Paula Zahn.
Soon after his time with the show On The Case with Paula Zahn he focused on becoming a freelance filmmaker full-time. His experience has led to him working with companies such as Castletown Media, Lemonlight Media, Hayden5, Long Island University and the Street Vendor Project to name a few. He has worked on numerous types of projects such as Brand Videos, Short Narratives, Music Videos, Event Coverage, Poker Tournaments and Documentaries. .
His most notable work is with Castletown Media as Director of Photographer for the documentary The Field Afar which explores the life of Medal of Honor winner, Fr. Vincent Capodanno and has been featured in numerous film festivals. It won the Audience Choice for Best Feature Documentary at the Monmouth Film Festival and Best film at Russo Brothers Film Forum. It has also been chosen for distribution on ABC TV affiliated stations from November 17th, 2019 to January 17 2020.
